The Malabar Islamic Complex have successfully completed 28 golden years in the field of social and religious education. Over fifteen institutions are working under the complex which is situated at Mahinabad, Chattanchal of Kasaragod district. The institutions working under the complex are wholeheartedly by the people.
There was a time when the conditions and the teaching facilities of religious institution were facing decay which worse a need of a institution which will uplift the religious studies along with moral, Scientific, mathematical and logical reasonings. The rudimentary stage of MIC was budded in the mind of Mr.C.M Abdulla Moulavi who is well known for his contributions in social services. His dream was a new era of religious and other education and the upliftment of future generations. He along with U.M Usthad tried all the ways they could for achieving this dream. That is when A.M Moosa Haji came up with a polite request “ I have accumulated 10 acers of land at Thekkil, Mahinabad. I want you to take it up and establish educational institution there
Upon hearing this request C.M Usthad discussed about it in the District committee and decided to proceed the plan. The foundation stone was laid by honorable Panakkad Sayyed Muhammad Ali Shihab Thangal on 4 th July 1993. From a simple start MIC today emerged as a complex of more than 15 institutions.
MIC Arts and Science College was established to eradicate the scarcity of higher education for the students after their higher secondary .Currently there are courses in BA English, BA Economics, Bsc Mathematics, Bsc Computer Science, BBA, BTTM, B.Com and M.com being offered by the institution which is approved by the Government of Kerala and affiliated to the Kannur University.
MIC Arts and Science College was founded by the visionary Qazi CM Abdulla Moulavi, a prominent figure within North Malabar. As one of the 20 institutions under the Malabar Islamic Complex, our college is dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for the Muslim community in Northern Kerala.
Our mission is to bridge educational disparities and empower marginalized Muslim individuals, transforming them into catalysts for positive societal change. To date, over 4,000 graduates have emerged from our institution, actively contributing to global communities. We continue to nurture future leaders committed to progress and social impact.
